Knights hit the road recruiting
Recruiting isn't just about acquiring the best athletes, it's identifying the best fits for your program.
That's the philosophy at UCF where they believe it takes more than just talent alone to build a successful football team.
Recruiting coordinator Brent Key says it's a multi-faceted process that goes beyond film evaluation. In addition to football skill, the Knights seek motivated student-athletes who possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, good judgement and leadership among other traits.
"It's a certain kid we're looking for from an athletic, academic and character standpoint," Key said. "If you look at the historical trend of players we've had who have graduated and been successful players on the team, it's a unique mold all those players share. That's what we're trying to do right now. Find the best players for UCF. Not necessarily the best players around, or who might be the best players for another school, but the best players for us."
