4-star QB high on Oregon

The Oregon Ducks are always scouring the country for top talent. The State of Florida has been the site of many visits from Oregon coaches for the class of 2010. The next offer to a Sunshine State player may yield a commitment.

Jeffrey Godfrey is one of the top recruits in the State of Florida for 2010. The 6-foot-0 dual-threat quarterback from Miami Central is rated as the #184 player in the country by Rivals.com.

"I have been recruited by Coach Kelly from Oregon. He said they were going to offer me soon. That was three weeks ago. If they offer me, I am going to accept it. I will be the type of QB Oregon needs."

No longer the quarterback position coach, Chip Kelly nonetheless has made an impression on this elite athlete.

"Coach Kelly is a great guy," Godfrey said. "He wants me to finish my education, not just play football. He doesn't want me to be a stupid athlete. He's an offensive genius."
