Does UCF have a case vs. the NCAA?
Can UCF win an appeal so they'll never face a bowl ban?
In the wake of Tuesday's NCAA sanctions that included both scholarship losses and postseason bans for both football and men's basketball, the school announced they would appeal one penalty in particular: The bowl game ban in football.
To explore the issue further, 'The Beat of Sports' interviewed Michael Buckner, an attorney who specializes in cases against the NCAA and one of the few very people who has actually won an appeal.
He was not optimistic about UCF's chances.
"I think UCF is going to have a tough road ahead of itself in trying to convince the appeals committee to overturn or reduce any of the penalties, including the bowl ban," Buckner said.
