Fans gobble up last remaining tickets

Saturday's game against No. 12 South Carolina has officially sold out.

UCF officials made the announcement Monday morning after the last remaining tickets were purchased.

Earlier in the morning, hundreds of students lined up at CFE Arena in hopes of obtaining one of 200 student-guest tickets or one of the last regular-priced tickets. Most were left empty-handed, including a friend of junior linebacker Terrance Plummer.

"I had somebody in line trying to get my family some tickets," Plummer said. "I knew about (the big line). I'm just glad everybody wants to be a part of this."

If you don't already have a ticket, the only remaining option is the secondary market with sites like Stubhub and eBay. As of Monday evening, the cheapest ticket on Stubhub was going for $100.

"I feel bad because I've got 18 family members and I only get four tickets," Plummer said. "They're going to tailgate and if they can't make it in then they'll go to Buffalo Wild Wings and watch it in there like everybody else."

This will be the seventh sellout since Bright House Networks Stadium opened in 2007 and the first since the Boston College game in 2011.

"It should be packed," head coach George O'Leary said. "Eventually that's what you'd like to see every weekend. Not just this game, but every weekend. I've always said when programs are going real well, it's not who you're playing, it's that you're playing that the fans get excited about. Some of the programs in the country have that. They don't care who they're playing. They're still going to pack the place up. That's what you're looking for from your fanbase and the people who follow your program."

UCF's 12,000-seat student section will be seated on a first come, first serve basis on Saturday. The school will distribute 2,000 "early entry passes" to students attending Friday's women's soccer and volleyball contests. Pass-holders with a valid student ID will be allowed to enter the stadium at 9:30 a.m., which is 30 minutes before the general student population.

"I know it's been the talk around campus about the tickets being sold out," junior wide receiver Rannell Hall said. "People are going to eBay and other ticket sites just to buy extra tickets. We've just got to come out and show our fans what we've been working for."
