UCF 41, Rutgers 17: Postgame Reaction

UCF is one step closer to their BCS dreams.

The No. 17 Knights (9-1, 6-0) rolled over Rutgers 41-17 on Thursday in front of a national television audience on ESPN to stay on top of the American Athletic Conference.

Quarterback Blake Bortles had a big night, completing 21 of 30 yards for 335 yards and a touchdown, while running for another score. J.J. Worton, a week after making the biggest catch of his career and earning American Offensive Player of the Week honors, had another big performance with five catches for 117 yards. Breshad Perriman, playing for the first time in nearly two weeks, reeled in five receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown.

UCF's defense limited Rutgers to 221 yards of total offense. Their two touchdowns came as a result of special teams plays - a fake punt and a punt block which led to scores.

If Houston beats Cincinnati on Saturday, UCF could clinch the American championship - and a BCS bid - with a win against USF next Friday.
