Knights sign free agent contracts

Joe Burnett may have been the only UCF player drafted, but three more Knights are headed to NFL teams as free agents. Safety Sha'reff Rashad, offensive tackle Patrick Brown and safety Jason Venson each came to terms with franchises Sunday evening.

Rashad, a first team All-Conference USA selection this past season, goes to the New York Giants where he will join former Knights Darcy Johnson and Leger Douzable.

Brown, who started 50 consecutive games for the Knights at left tackle, heads to Charlotte as a Carolina Panther.

The Cleveland Browns picked up Venson, who led UCF with 82 tackles this past season.

Burnett was drafted earlier in the day by the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round.
