Collier commits to UCF

At long last, Antwan Collier is a Knight.

The Miami Southridge defensive back had long been a target of UCF's coaching staff though he initially had other plans, first committing to Illinois during the summer. UCF jumped back in when he reopened his recruitment in late October, letting him know that he still had a spot in the class.

Collier took them up on it, announcing his commitment on Tuesday evening. He's an early enrollee too, meaning he'll be at UCF in January in time to participate in spring practice.

He could also play safety, but it's believed UCF will give him a shot at cornerback first. That's a big area of need considering the Knights graduate all four players in the secondary after this season.

Collier's offer list is long and includes the likes of Cal, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland, Mississippi State, Nebraska, NC State, Oregon State, Purdue, USF and Temple.

Secondary coach Travis Fisher recruited Collier for the Knights.
