Big Knight: UCF nabs four-star OL

Scott Frost and the UCF staff have landed a member of the Rivals250 and a four-star prospect.

Offensive guard Aaron Dowdell will sign with the Knights on Wednesday, the Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside star announced late Monday afternoon.

"First off, I would like to thank God, my family and all of the people that have helped me through my recruiting process," Dowdell said in a tweet. "Also I would like to thank all the schools that showed interest in me. I will be spending my next four years at The University of Central Florida. #ChargeOn."

A one-time commitment to the University of Georgia, Dowdell reopened his recruitment after the coaching change in Athens. He visited UCF the weekend of Jan. 22 and just got back from a trip to Georgia Southern. Florida and Mississippi State were also involved late.

As it currently stands, Dowdell is the highest ranked UCF commit though another four-star prospect, wide receiver Dredrick Snelson, remains a possibility for UCF's class. He's expected to announce on National Signing Day.
