Four-star Snelson flips for UCF

UCF's big day got an exclamation point shortly before 2 p.m. as Rivals250 wide receiver Dredrick Snelson announced he would be a Knight, spurning offers from Minnesota (where he had been committed), Penn State and Maryland.

"For the next three or four years, I will be attending the University of Central Florida," Snelson said in front of a packed auditorium at Flanagan High School.

Snelson had officially visited UCF the weekend of Jan. 15 and returned a week later unofficially. As it turns out, UCF's staff had already received his National Letter of Intent.

"That was a great visit," Snelson said of UCF earlier this week. "They would love to use me like how they used Bralon Addison at Oregon. They would love to get me the ball out of the backfield too, at receiver, just however they can. It's exciting to know that Oregon's offensive coordinator is now at UCF."

The signing gives UCF two four-star prospects in this class, the other being OL Aaron Dowdell.

UCF's 2016 recruiting class currently sits at 20 players. One more is possible as DT Trysten Hill will announce at 3:30 whether he's signing with UCF or Virginia.
