It's been a big week so far for UCF recruiting.

On Sunday night, the Knights landed a commitment from four-star inside linebacker Eriq Gilyard, who chose the Knights over NC State and also had strongly considered Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan and Virgnia Tech. His offer list was quite extensive, including schools such as Alabama, Clemson and LSU.

"Coach Frost and all the coaches down there are building something special," Gilyard told Action Sports Jax. "It's something I want to be a part of."

Gilyard, who plans to enroll in January, took his official visit the weekend of the East Carolina game. He was joined on that trip by his Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity International teammate Chamarri Conner, who is currently pledged to Virginia Tech but UCF is hoping can be swayed.

On Tuesday night, safety Jermaine McMillian of Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington followed suit and announced his commitment to the Knights. McMillian visited the weekend of the Memphis game.

"I loved everything about UCF," McMillian said. "The vibe on campus was great."

McMillian's offer sheet included Baylor, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, NC State, South Carolina and USF.

His team - Booker T. Washington - will actually be in Orlando on Friday night to play Evans High School.

Like Gilyard, McMillian is also expected to be a January enrollee.
