Griffins hope to start track program at UCF

UCF football signees Shaquem Griffin and Shaquill Griffin will be getting rings after helping St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood win their first boys track title this past weekend.
Shaquem was first in the long jump while his brother Shaquill came out on top in the triple jump (Shaquem was third in the triple). Both ran on the 4x4 relay team that finished third. After all the points were calculated, Lakewood edged Miami (Fla.) Washington by just one point to capture the championship.

Todd Grasley of FLRunners.com caught up with the UCF-bound duo for a three-minute video interview to talk about their accomplishments and also their future at UCF.
Shaquem, slated to play safety, and Shaquill, a cornerback, both are set to enroll in June for the Summer B session. UCF doesn't currently have a men's track & field team, but they hope to provide the foundation to establish one.
"The next chapter is to keep the grades up and do good things for the football team," Shaquem Griffin told Grasley of FLRunners.com. "I'll go up there working hard and staying humble. I'd like to get a starting position. Hopefully run track, win some division titles and start a boys track team for UCF."
Shaquill echoed what his brother said.

We want to come in and win some NCAA Championships in individual events and if we do that they said they'll fund the money to start a track team. Our goal is to start a new era at UCF."Here to view this Link.
