Howard bonds with coaches on UCF visit

Coveted unsigned cornerback Antonio Howard visited UCF this past weekend. The Class of 2017 product from Independence (Kan.) Community College spent Friday through Sunday on campus.

"It was nice and smooth," Howard said. "I saw UCF last summer and I liked it back then too. My favorite part was talking to Coach (Travis) Fisher, the cornerbacks coach. We had a good football talk and watched some film. I also like Coach (Scott) Frost. He's laid back, just a real cool person. We had a long great talk about football and life."

UCF is losing multiple corners to graduation, including Shaquill Griffin, who was just drafted in the third round by the Seattle Seahawks.

"They need a cornerback that can come in and play now," Howard said last week.

A decision should be forthcoming for the Miami native. He flies to Louisville today for the beginning of an official visit and has previously visited Texas A&M. Howard, who would have three seasons of eligibility remaining, plans to announce his choice later in the week.
