Pensacolas Sitton commits to UCF

UCF received another commitment from one of last weekend's visitors when Pensacola (Fla.) Catholic defensive tackle Josh Sitton committed to the Golden Knights on Tuesday.
Sitton (6-4, 295) raved about his visit in an interview last Sunday and really seemed to be impressed with everything UCF had to offer. On Tuesday night he explained the reasons behind his decision.

"I felt the most comfortable there," Sitton said. "I felt like all the coaches and everybody there were good people. I felt like they were loyal. It was just a great place down there, a great campus. Awesome facilities. I felt best there of all the colleges.
"Coach (Dave) Huxtable is actually coming tomorrow. I'm not sure if Coach (George) O'Leary is coming over. He's got to speak at some luncheon and if he can figure out what time Coach Huxtable is coming over he might see if he come over here too."
Sitton had visits scheduled later this week to UAB and Auburn but he said he was going to cancel those. He had also visited Nicholls State in Louisiana. Both UAB and NSU had offered and he was waiting to hear back from Auburn before he committed to UCF.
Most schools were recruiting Sitton to play offensive line but he'll be a defensive tackle at UCF.
"I really don't think I'm going to redshirt because the lack of depth at d-tackle right now for them," Sitton said. "I think they're going into spring with two or three d-tackles. I think just two of them are on scholarship. I think they need for me to come in there and play early. If I don't get a chance to play then I'm going to redshirt. But I think I can play. It's just a matter of what I do and how hard I work."
Has he thought about a major?
"Maybe business or communications," Sitton said. "I want to be a coach someday so I might end up being education."
Sitton said his favorite football player is Kyle Turley. He is qualified with a 2.6 grade point average and a score of 21 on the ACT.
