Speedster Ke'von Ahmad commits to UCF

UCF has landed their top wide receiver target.

A week after his official visit, Ke'von Ahmad of Colleyville, Tex., announced his decision on Saturday night during a Dallas-area high school sports show. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder chooses the Knights over SMU and Boise State.

Flanked by family, friends and supporters, Ahmad said the decision was "super hard" and "stressful" but feels UCF is the best place for him.

"I love Florida," Ahmad said. "I love the place. I went out there and had a great time. They showed me everything I needed to see. Most people know I'm a big Sooners fan so Josh Heupel being their coach put me over the top."

Ahmad is originally from Florida having played his freshman season at Ponte Vedra High School near Jacksonville. As a senior at Colleyville, Ahmad caught 98 balls for 1,604 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was recruited to UCF by wide receivers coach Darrell Wyatt.

Ahmad is a speedster who routinely clocks times of 10.4 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
