Tampa athlete Patrick Jolly Jr. commits to UCF

UCF landed one of their top offensive targets on Friday.

Patrick Jolly Jr., a three-star wide-receiver from Lithia (Fla.) Newsome, pledged to the Knights over other finalists that included USF, North Carolina, Toledo, West Virginia and Iowa State.

UCF likes the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Jolly as a running back, but he has the talent to play other positions as well. As a junior, Jolly rushed for 797 yards on 86 carries with nine touchdowns while catching eight passes for 80 yards.

Jolly has visited UCF several times throughout the recruiting process and recently returned from a trip that included stops at UNC, WVU and Toledo.

Running backs coach Ryan Held recruits the Tampa area.
