UCF lands four-star receiver

UCF has landed one of the top wide receivers in the nation.
Tristan Payton, a member of the Rivals250, ranked four stars and No. 14 at his position, announced his pledge on Sunday morning at the conclusion of his official visit. The Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast star, who was recruited by receivers coach Sean Beckton, had previously been committed to Florida and USC.

"I'm blessed to say that I've committed to the University of Central Florida," Payton tweeted. "A dream come true. Always keep faith in the man above and watch how it plays out."
Wide receiver is a critical area of need for the Knights in this class. UCF graduates four and a fifth, Breshad Perriman, recently declared for the NFL Draft.
Payton is on track to be UCF's first four-star signee since Kyle Gibson a year ago and the first four-star receiver since Josh Reese in 2010. His ranking - No. 142 nationally and No. 14 at receiver - would make him UCF's highest-rated signee in the Rivals.com recruiting era, which dates back to 2002.
UCF now has two receivers as Payton joins Cameron Stewart, who was the first commitment last April. The Knights certainly aren't done there - they'd like to sign at least two more. They're waiting for word from Khalil Lewis, Jayson Stanley and D'erren Wilson who also visited with Payton this weekend. Lewis and Stanley are currently committed to West Virginia and Georgia, respectively. The Knights are also still in the mix for Tavin Richardson, who was visiting Kentucky.
