UCF's 2024 recruiting class moves into top 25

With a pair of high-profile commitments Tuesday, UCF's recruiting class is now ranked inside the top 25.

The pledges of Jaylen Heyward and Bredell Richardson, both four-star prospects, elevated UCF's class to No. 22 nationally according to Rivals.com.

The ranking gives the Knights a solid lead for the No. 1 spot in the new Big 12 ahead of Texas Tech (No. 32), Arizona (No. 37), Arizona State (No. 40) and West Virginia (No. 41).

"Recruiting is going great," UCF head coach Gus Malzahn said at the recent media day. "There's no doubt about that with this class coming up... We're in really good shape right now. I think we'll be in really good shape once the season gets here. The sky is the limit for recruiting at a place like this. You look at the '25 class and we're doing really good too. It's a good time to be here."

UCF remains in the mix for several more prospects that could push the ranking even higher, including but not limited to offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis and defensive ends Elias Williams and Solomon Williams. All three visited UCF in June.

Pierre-Louis is strongly considering several schools, including UCF, Miami, Oklahoma and Oregon.

Elias Williams has a final four of UCF, Florida State, Missouri and Indiana. He plans to announce his commitment Sept. 1.

Solomon Williams, a teammate of Bredell Richardson at Tampa's Carrollwood Day, recently announced a top seven: UCF, Oregon, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Texas A&M.
