UCF to host Oklahoma in 2012

Oklahoma may soon be added to UCF's 2012 home football schedule.
Sources tell UCFSports.com the two schools are close to finalizing a home-and-home series which would begin next season in Orlando.

The Sooners would replace Kansas State, who has already informed UCF they intend to buy out of next year's return game. The UCF-OU matchup would likely be scheduled for late September.
Oklahoma, ranked No. 6 in this week's BCS standings, would be the second Big 12 team to visit Bright House Networks Stadium. Texas opened the venue on Sept. 15, 2007.
Florida has emerged as a new recruiting territory for the Sooners, who already have three Sunshine State commitments for 2012 including Apopka offensive lineman Ty Darlington. This would be Oklahoma's second Florida appearance in as many years-- they wrapped up a series with Florida State earlier this season with a 23-13 win in Tallahassee.
UCF's 2012 non-conference schedule is shaping up to be the most challenging in years. The Knights begin the year with back-to-back road games at Akron and Ohio State and will also host FIU.
