UCF to play FSU in basketball

For the first time since the late 1980s, UCF will play Florida State in men's basketball.
UCFSports.com has learned the two schools recently have agreed upon a series with the first game taking place this November in Tallahassee. The Seminoles will return the trip to UCF either next season or the year after.

The Knights and Seminoles are also both competing in the Battle 4 Atlantis eight-team tournament Nov. 23-27 in the Bahamas. The bracket has yet to be announced.
The last meeting between the two in-state schools occured a couple years before any of the current players were born when FSU defeated UCF 97-64 on Dec. 28, 1988 at the Red Lobster Classic in Orlando. At the time, the Knights competed as a Division I independent and the Seminoles participated in the now-defunct Metro Conference.
UCF's complete 2011-12 schedule will be released in the new few weeks. The Knights recently wrapped up a successful four-day tour of Canada where they went an unbeaten 3-0 against teams from in and around Montreal.
