UCF to play pair of ESPN weekday games

UCF's 2013 inaugural Big East football schedule will include at least two primetime weekday appearances on ESPN.
That's the word from UCF play-by-play voice Marc Daniels, who said the Knights will play a nationally-televised Thursday home game and a Friday road game. Daniels made the statement during his Tuesday broadcast of The Beat of Sports, which airs weekdays from 9-12 noon on 740 The Game.

The full Big East schedule is set to be released Wednesday at 12 noon. It's also possible UCF plays additional weekday games.
Perhaps not aware of the news embargo, Connecticut released their schedule on Tuesday afternoon which revealed they would travel to UCF on Saturday, Oct. 26. The press release was removed from their official site about an hour later.
In addition to UConn, UCF will also host Houston, Rutgers and USF and the Knights will go on the road to play Louisville, Memphis, SMU and Temple. The only Big East school UCF will not play is Cincinnati.
The non-conference schedule has already been finalized. UCF opens the season at home on Thursday, Aug. 29 against Akron and the following Saturday travels to FIU (Sept. 7). The Knights visit Penn State on Sept. 14 and host South Carolina on Sept. 28.
