Zayas picks UCF

Outside linebacker Stephon Zayas announced his commitment to UCF on Sunday afternoon.

The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard star visited UCF in December and had spent this weekend on an official visit to NC State. Pittsburgh was also heavily recruiting him.

"I like how everything at UCF is close together," Zayas said following his visit last month. "The stadium and facilities are all within walking distance."

Zayas has the ability to play defensive end, but UCF's coaches see the long 6-foot-6, 210-pounder as an outside linebacker in their 3-4 scheme.

Linebackers coach Jovan Dewitt was his recruiter.

As it currently stands, UCF has 20 commitments in the 2017 class with room for about five more players.
