Aaron Evans' UCF career is over.

The senior left tackle will miss the Peach Bowl due to surgery for an unspecified injury, the school announced on Wednesday.

Evans has been a mainstay on the Knights' offensive line the past three seasons, starting all but one game at left tackle. He was a First Team All-American Athletic Conference selection this season.

Offensive line teammate Wyatt Miller, Evan's counterpart at right tackle, indicated the timing is to best position Evans for a possible future in the NFL.

"He came to me and asked me what I thought about it," Miller said. "He brought it up to the offensive line. I told him that this is one game. This surgery determines his future and what happens to him. I told him to do whatever is best for him. As far as the team, we know he's a great teammate and we know for him to get where he wants to in his career he needs to do what's best for him. We told him that as a team and an offensive line. We trust him and we'll be behind him in whatever decision he makes. He made the right decision for him. We fully support him."

Jake Brown has moved to left tackle, sliding over from left guard. Brown started at right tackle on Sept. 30 against Memphis when Miller went down with an injury. Brown's left guard spot is expected to be manned by a combination of Tyler Hudanick and Sam Jackson.

"It will definitely be a little bit different," Miller said. "We've had some changes throughout the year. I went down one game and we beat Memphis that game. I think we're good. I think as far as how we've grown this year as an offensive line, we've been able to adapt to different situations and adapt to anything that's put in front of us. Adversity really hasn't affected us. It's another challenge. That's all it us. We're going to overcome it."
