Decision coming soon for Curtis

Noah Curtis, a two-way athlete who has transferred to American Heritage Delray, spent his Saturday making an unofficial visit to UCF. It was the first time on campus for big 6-foot-5, 220-pound athlete who was offered by the Knights in May.

"I liked how UCF is a program on the rise," Curtis said in a message. "They told me about how UCF was the best college in Florida. I really liked the coaches, all of them."

Curtis, who is being recruited by offensive coordinator Troy Walters, said the Knights were recruiting him as a defensive end/outside linebacker for their 3-4 scheme. Other schools are intrigued in his potential as a tight end, though he's said previously that playing defense is his preference.

As a junior at Palm Beach Lakes, Curtis recorded 13 sacks.

On Sunday afternoon, Curtis released a top 10 list of schools posted in alphabetical order: Arkansas, Bowling Green, UCF, FAU, Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, Pittsburgh, USF and West Virginia.

Curtis indicated he could have a decision within the next two weeks after he finishes his last round of visits, which should include stops at UNC, NC State, Pittsburgh, Arkansas and Maryland.
