Kobe Hudson's first season at UCF was an impactful one.

The Auburn transfer led the Knights in touchdown receptions (7) while finishing third in receptions (39) and yards (641).

Hudson now enters this season as a entrenched veteran as he and Javon Baker will be expected to anchor the wide receiver corps. We caught up with Hudson following Saturday's fourth practice of spring.

"It's a blessing to be here with all the stuff I've been through," Hudson said. "It's a blessing to be one of the older guys on the team that everybody can look up to. I'm excited for this season and ready to play a big role for the team."

UCF is looking for additional receivers to step up this season. Chauncey Magwood, a transfer from Kentucky, joined the team in January.

"Chauncey fits in perfectly," Hudson said. "He's a great person with a great personality. He's making a lot of great plays these past four days. I expect him to play a big role this season."

What's his early evaluation of the quarterback play?

"I see a lot of competition and a lot of want to," Hudson said. "Those guys are eager to prove themselves that one of them can be the guy for us. They're all stepping up and making good plays."

How is Thomas Castellanos looking heading into his second year?

"Thomas is a dog. It's in him," Hudson said. "Whenever he gets his chance, I know he's going to ball out. I see him every day coming to work. He's always ready. He's eager to work even on off days. I feel like he's going to be a big part of the team this year."
