St. Pete athlete commits to UCF

St. Petersburg (Fla.) Gibbs athlete Maurice Hall is the latest addition to UCF's 2014 recruiting class. He is the sixth player to commit to the Knights in the past week.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder, who visited UCF on Friday, announced the decision late Saturday night via his Facebook profile. He picks the Knights over offers from Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kentucky, Marshall, Oklahoma, USF and West Virginia. He was recruited by secondary coach Kirk Callahan.

Hall is good friends with incoming freshmen Shaquem Griffin and Shaquill Griffin, who played at nearby Lakewood, as well as quarterback Pete DiNovo.
Hall has played wide receiver and outside linebacker at Gibbs, though his future could be in the secondary.
A victim of a drive-by shooting last September, Hall missed most of his junior season while he recuperated from a gunshot wound. He was fully cleared to play sports again this past spring, competing in both spring football and track.
Hall becomes the Knights' seventh overall pledge joining running back C.J. Jones, defensive end Sedrick King, offensive lineman Wyatt Miller, wide receiver Chris Davis, wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith and offensive lineman Chavis Dickey.
BigCountyPreps.com posted highlights of Hall from Gibbs' recent spring game against Northeast.
