UCF makes the cut for Miami cornerbacks

UCF made the top lists for a pair of three-star cornerbacks from Miami.

Antwan Collier, who attends Miami Southridge, dropped a top 10 Monday afternoon that included UCF, Illinois, Louisville, Nebraska, Cal, Utah, Maryland, Iowa State, Oregon State and Cincinnati. Landing an offer this past February, Collier visited earlier this month as his team competed in UCF's 7-on-7 tournament. He indicated he would be making a commitment in August.

A short time later, Dedrick Mackey of Miami Booker T. Washington released a top eight that included Arkansas, FAU, Iowa State, Purdue, Temple, UCF, USF and Wisconsin. He was offered by the Knights in early May.

Secondary coach Travis Fisher is the recruiter of note for both players.

UCF is off to a blazing start in recruiting wtih 13 Class of 2017 commits, but none from a cornerback. Other players believed to be in UCF's top mix of recruited cornerbacks include Faion Hicks, Zamari Maxwell, Michael Nesbitt, Rennard Bozeman and Raheme Fuller.
