Not many teams can say they beat the No. 1 team in the nation, but Renee Luers-Gillispie's team can boast just that. UCF Softball upset the top-ranked Florida Gators, 1-0, in the first game of the championship round Sunday afternoon in Gainesville.

UCF (49-20) needed to win the second game to advance to the NCAA Super Regionals, but unfortunately fell to the Gators (65-3) in Game Two.

The season ends for the Knights, but what a great year it was. UCF defeated every team they faced in the State of Florida and knocked off USF and Georgia Tech in the NCAA Regionals before their matchup with UF.
